Breaking the cycle of abuse, one child at a time.

Our Mission

The mission of Brazoria County Alliance for Children, Inc. is to provide services and meet the needs of abused and neglected children by partnering with law enforcement and other social service providers within Brazoria County.

    Our Services

    Forensic Interview

A forensic interview is a conversation that allows children to talk about their experience of abuse and/or exposure to violence. This interview is conducted by a BCAC staff member who is trained to gather information in a developmentally-sensitive and non-leading manner. These compassionate professionals try to make each child feel comfortable enough to express themselves freely.

    Family Advocacy

Family advocates provide crisis intervention and emotional support to non-offending family members and caregivers. BCAC advocates provide resources and referrals throughout the investigation, and after, for as long as each family needs.

    Trauma-Focused Therapy

BCAC therapists are trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, a proven therapy that allows children to process the trauma they have experienced. Because trauma-focused therapy helps children cope and heal from their abuse, this service is critical to helping children along the path of hope and healing.

    Medical Evaluation

BCAC partners with medical professionals who are trained to recognize signs and symptoms of child abuse. The evaluation is available for any child when there are allegations or concerns of abuse. The evaluation helps a child know that their body is okay and may be part of the journey of hope and healing.

Brazoria County Alliance for Children offers multiple training and outreach modules to collaborative partners, school districts, daycare centers, churches, civic and community organizations and community members on many subjects.
