The mission of Brazoria County Alliance for Children is to provide trauma-informed services to children and families affected by abuse through collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and educate the community through outreach and training.

Our History
Historically, when responding to reports of child abuse and neglect, numerous problems have been encountered, including excessive interviews of child victims, development of physical evidence and lack of communication among involved agencies and individuals.
Having recognized these issues, Brazoria County developed a cooperative team approach to the investigation of child abuse and neglect. Beginning in October of 2004, the first child was interviewed at Brazoria County Alliance for Children.

Family Advocacy
Family advocates provide crisis intervention and emotional support to non-offending family members and caregivers.
Trauma-Focused Therapy
BCAC therapists are trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, a proven therapy that allows children to process the trauma they have experienced.
Medical Evaluation
BCAC partners with medical professionals who are trained to recognize signs and symptoms of child abuse.

Advocate for
Children’s Safety
The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, Texas Abuse Hotline is available 24 hours a day to accept abuse reports.
Texas Law requires a person who suspects abuse must report the abuse.
